Here are some pics that John asked me to send you. The church is Merchants Hope Episcopal Church in Prince George County. It is the "oldest Protestant church in the US still conducting services" according to historical data. All of Torsten's sisters were married there, I was confirmed, Ginny baptized at 3 months old, all family funerals held there....quite a connection. However, the vestry has to vote on whether it's OK since the John and Ginny do not want an Episcopal wedding and want PD to marry them.

As you can see from the photos, they are currently using the parish hall for services as the church is having some work done. It is a lovely building with a terrific kitchen too.

The photo of the plantation at the bottom is Shirley Plantation in Charles City County, right across the river from us. They have stopped allowing wedding receptions there, but T is going to call the family (they have owned it for 11 generations and are business acquaintances and used to be our neighbors*) to see if they might make an exception. It would be on the grounds, not inside. It is a beautiful place and they both fell in love with it. (*we lived right down the road when we first got married in a very old "manor house" that we rented. Our mailbox was actually at Shirley)
